No, never killed a praying mantis. I do hope it was an accident.

Yeah that just cost you a good friend. The Mantis eats a lot of insects that could be more harmful than it is. Next time you get the urge find an insect that isn't one that does you more good than harm. Remember as well that nature has put most of these insects here for a reason and to kill one of them may be disrupting the intention of Mother Nature. Doing it just for fun? I think you have better things to do with your life and your time, now find out what that is and work on it for you it could be alot more productive. I once shot a robin with my bb gun but the gun shot wasn't strong enough to kill it and only stunned it, once I got up close and saw how beautiful it really was I never shot at another living thing again and still don't. Have fun learning about what God intended you to do in your life time. It is out there but how long before you discover it is all up to you.

Yeah I have, and the mantis made a sickening crunching noise under my foot. I wondered what I had stepped on, I got quite a start.

no . preying mantis's are good bugs they eat other bugs . find some Roach's to step on .

No wouldn't there cool. If I'm not mistaken I believe after the female has sex with the male see kills him.
