it's made to look like an old gangster movie but they were made for the home alone movies. the man who plays the older gangster is named ralph foody. he's had bit parts in various other movies. i remember him as a heckling pittsburgh fan in the babe.
but for the longest time i thought they were real movies too. it wasn't until i saw him in other movies of the time that i realized those movies were made just for home alone.
the movies are called angels with filthy/filthier souls which is certainly a play off off angels with dirty faces, an old james cageny gangster film from 1938.
