You sound like a wife or girlfriend. Your idea of a decent conversation is probably a litany of things that he needs to do.
"We should go on vacation" (you should take me somewhere)
"Let's go to dinner!" (you should take me somewhere)
"Don't you think the walls would look better blue?" (you should do more work at home after working at your job)
"What do you think about Iraq?" (and fix the whole damned world, while you're at it!)

What do you think a decent conversation is. Stories from work? If you talk about car engines or how th give better head you might be able to compete with a football game. But if you just want to get into some stupid trivialities to keep your lips flapping then your problem is obvious.

Because watching football is fun and being nagged is not. Plus you have all week to have a conversation with the guy, let him enjoy his football on Sunday, and Monday night, oh and Saturday if he likes college, and there's usually a game on Thursday night and sometimes Friday, but other than that you can talk to him anytime. Geez

There's a time for everything. When men are watching football, and you are trying to converse with them you might as well just go bang your head on the wall. And when you are done with that, you might as well ask them if they want a cold beer, they'll hear that. But I've learned that this is a time to get them to agree to things that they usually wouldn't, so a wise woman will use this time to her advantage. They agree with things just to shut you up and get out of their hair so they can watch the game.

Men would rather believe everything is fine and leave it at that. We don't want to make or deal with waves. Women like to tweak relationships. Men want to leave well enough alone. Women should leave the conversation to their girlfriends and gay guys.

hey what a Minute --- not all guys watch football and some of us don't even particularly like watching sports.
and hey lets face it do you ladies really wanna hear anything we say(lol).

i just don't like it when the ladies lump the male of the species together we are not all the same....

Actually my wife loves sports & her idea of a great day is planting herself in front of the big screen & watching football. Unfortunately for her...sports do nothing for me. (except world cup soccer)
