Love...
is many things.
Love isn't blind, I don't find that it is so. Love sees all but is willing to accept all the blemishes. They often make this love more poignant.
Love is unquestionable. True love is like a rock--you can't peel it open, and if you do, you just find more rock and more underneath and more. When there is no more rock left there is nothing at all.
Love is generous because you love another like you love yourself; love is selfish because that person's highs and lows become your highs and lows.
Love is a conscious action on one's part; being loved in return is not something one can help. So sometimes love hurts, but it's worthwhile all the same.
It would be possible to live in a world without love, but it wouldn't be a world worth living in.
Love could roughly be seen as the pursuit of happiness, the most basic of all human desires.
These are some of the characteristics of love, but it's quite undefineable really. It's a force of nature.
--I like your question, but why in this section? I think it would fit well as a philosphical question though.

Love is a condition or phenomenon of emotional primacy, or absolute value. Love generally includes an emotion of intense attraction to either another person, a place, or thing; and may also include the aspect of caring for or finding identification with those objects, including self-love. Love can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience usually felt by a person for another person.
The concept of love, however, is subject to debate. Some deny the existence of love. Others call it a recently invented abstraction, sometimes dating the "invention" to courtly Europe during or after the middle ages (though this is contradicted by the sizable body of ancient love poetry). Others maintain that love really exists, is not an abstraction, but is indefinable; being a quantity which is spiritual, metaphysical, or philosophical in nature. Some psychologists maintain that love is the action of lending one's "boundary" or "self esteem" to another. Others attempt to define love by applying the definition to everyday life.
Love has several different meanings in the English language, from something that gives a little pleasure to something for which one would die. And in contrast to the definition above, frequently people use the verb "love" to indicate want or desire for themselves as opposed to for another. Whatever it is,love is what humans need and not hate. That's the only way peace can reign in this world.Go on and live your life with love.

The Impossible Generalized Man today is the critic who believes in loving those unworthy of love as well as those worthy --yet believes this only insofar as no personal risk is entailed. Meaning he loves no one, worthy or no. This is what makes him impossible. - Nelson Algren

Love is best seen as devotion and action, not an emotion.
Love is not exclusively based on how we feel.
Certainly our emotions are involved, but they cannot be our only criteria for love.
True devotion will always lead to action - true love.
