i was not raised up to believe in God but i want to know him and feel close to him

Hi, I was not raised to believe either, and to be honest with my life it could have been easier to be an athiest but this compelling feeling that thrives within me showed me the path of love-and I discovered that feeling was coming from God and the love he was filling me with.
I have I believe always had an open mind and a heart as open-
Try it, not listen to others but what is within you. The bible, the church religion is a guide that may help highlight what you feel in the depths of your heart, awaken what has been sleeping-only you can discover it and nobody else can take it when found it

It's a very nice thing having faith but its not something that you can force yourself to have. Perhaps you could attend church, or speak to a religious leader and seek counsel...I feel like so long as you are wholly open to an idea you are much more likely to be able to accept it in the long term.

the fact that u "want to feel" close to him, is the first step. good for u.the journey to know him would be difficult/challenging/ even unpopular considering today's society. i suggest u start a prayer habit, simply talk to him - as though ur talking to a close friend. & the hard part - to truely feel close to him we should avoid sin(go to confession) ....i know we're only human! but that the beauty of it, we r free thinkers, the choice is ur. good luck. bless u.

God is love..........................
even though my mind couldn't see it but my heart feels his grace in just small things like this what Mother Theresa say's "we can do great thing's only small thing's but great love"
even if we just did small thing's but come's from the buttom of our heart we could feel the love and we can feel his grace by this.....
dont use your mind to feel it
just your heart
and if you do that you will feel his grace...............

God Almighty is closest to you than even yourself. HE is most merciful and most kind to you than your self. He loves you more than any one loves you. He is the most cherisher. HE is the greatest.
