If they are having an affair then their partner definately isn't their soulmate. Men have affairs for much the same reason women do i.e. they need more love and affection than they are getting from their partners. Men equate sex to love so if they are not getting sex at home then they don't feel loved. This is not something men can change. It's the way things are for the vast majority of men! Women, on the other hand need to fell desired and loved and appreciated, more romantic things. This is why, I think, that women and men often don't understand eachother and why affairs happen at all. The last thing I will point out is, whether we like it or not, we are all animals and so are driven by instinct. Mostly we are unaware of those forces working in our brains but make no mistake, they are there. Each human has the potential to have many, many affairs given the right circumstances. That includes women, even you!!!

Lets not get in to a big fight over this, but you have to remember that we men, and women are animals and we are here to continue the life cycle and no matter what.
It will happen.
No rules or regulations, are going to stop the human race from what it has to do. You can stack a ton of bibles and make a chain of lawyers around the world, it will make no difference to the human animal.
As for self control, well it all goes out the window mother nature is calling. If it was true about soul mates, the word divorce, would mean some thing else.
Remember that all this words, we type, write, see, read, are just words.
The true feelings, are built within us by mother nature. The hunt, and matting it all natural.
As things are going now a days, the word marriage will be out the door too.
Marriage nowadays is like a contract, rent to own, or option to buy.
Women are just a likely to be in a adultery relationship, but they are better at it, the us men.
So it up to you to control you man, and keep him at home, happy and satisfied.
If you marriage is not working, just trade in for a newer model. The 2007s are just coming out.

The saying that men will always be men is giving them a cop out, a reason to continue to behave in this way, and feel that it is not okay. I believe that when a man commits adultery they have no concept of morals, no self control, they become weakened by the flesh, and God is no where near their hearts, all they think about is what they can get from whoever their with these kind of men posses nothing that is appealing to decent, strong, and upright women...i mean who needs a selfish man who has no substance.

I think its not a matter of the sexes. People by nature, like animals, have the instinct to have the sexual urge when they are physically mature. Hence their sexual needs, like hunger, have to be fulfilled. Those who play by society's rules will not stray.
However there are those who have to have their sexual needs met through adulterous relationships.
There are many reasons why these occur and of each couple will have their own reasons, whether justifiable or not. I don't think we are in any position to judge anyone's behaviour and actions. The two consenting adults will have to answer for their actions.

They don't because they are self-centered and are more interested in their needs, regardless of the hurt they could be imposing upon others in their family. It's definitely an ego thing. They learn to justify their needs by blaming someone else for their actions.

They are looking for a prey, to build up their self esteem, to show off with their friends. It is confidence building i guess.
