NOD 32 works like a charm. It isn't as well known as Norton or Kaspersky or any other leading antivirus because it is a fairly recent one. It has passed the test that all antiviruses go through with 100% record and no hiccups. The updates happen instantaneously and it uses almost no system recourses. Download 30 day trial from website or Softpedia then search around for the NOD fix program which shall increase the trial by i dunno...um...300 year or so no joke!! thats why I have it, it is good and also you ca find a way of getting it free!!

Norton was king for a long time, but nowadays it's just too much of a resource hog. McAfee works alright, but their upgrade mechanisms requiring use of IE are cumbersome. AVG works really well and it's free, it's my personal favorite- but the best AV software available is Nod32 Anti-virus, a fairly new product that's blazing fast and has gotten great reviews.

After a recent article that i read that stated that Mcaffee Norton and Trend anti virus programs are currently running at a 80% miss rate. I'd have to say that best is either Kapersky or AVG.

YOU ARE! Learn where they come from! Peer to Peer sites, online game sites, porn sites, gambling sites, etc! Sites like bearshare, limewire, etc are the worst! You arent downloading from the site, you are downloading from a total strangers PC! Lastly, create a secondary e mail such as yahoo mail and let them do the filtering! Even the BEST antivirus software wont catch everything! Use your head!
