NDN Honey,
Here´s the miracle cure for this.
Boil water.
Place in a plastic bowl (large)
place you whites in it
Let the water cool of just a bit
Pour the water in the bowl/bucket
Pour 1 cup of distilled white vinegar
and let it rest overnight.
Wash as usual and add another
cup of distilled white vinegar to
the rinse cycle and presto,
your whites have revived!

After a while bleach (which has a yellowish tone) will give whites a dingy, yellowish tone. Get them back to bright white with BLUETTE. Most laundry detergents have a bluish color - that is the blueing agent. It counteracts the gray, yellow by adding a slight blue tint. BLUETTE comes in a blue bottle, with a white & yellow label. I seen it in 8 & 16 oz. It should be near the spot remover products in the store. Read the directions, a little gets diluted for the whole wash. Don't pour it onto the clothes -add it to the water first if you can, or pour into the bleach dispenser of the machine. Also, you won't need it every time, just when the whites get dull again. It's one of those old fashioned products that really works, but they don't advertise. Good Luck.

RE:
How do I get my whites that turned dingy back to white?
Over time my whites have turned dingy looking. I tried a couple of ways that I thought would work. But so far no luck. So if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it very much.

If your clothes are dingy use the vinegar solution that others have suggested. If you live in an area that has hard water, when you add bleach it must be only after the detergent has dissolved. If you add them together there is a chemical reaction, allowing the minerals to collect on the clothes. Mostly showing up on the whites. So wait to add your bleach.

Whites turn dingy because most people use too much soap for the machines to rinse them properly. So the solution is not less soap, but an extra rinse cycle. Try it and you'll be suprised at how well it works!!

Soak white clothes in some Cascade (powder formula) water and also add Cascade dish washing to white clothes in the washer. About a fourth of a cup. Works like a charm.

Hi,
Try leaving them soaking in your washer. Just stop the part of the wash where it is agitating. I sometimes will mix a little bleach with the soapy water from the washer in a coffee can and then dump it back in and let it soak, even up to 5 hours.

To brighten your white fabrics, soak them in a pot of boiling water with a sliced lemon.
OR
Add one quarter cup of borax to two cups of water to make a bleach substitute. Borax can also be added directly to the wash and used when presoaking stains.

I think the most practical way to turn your whites into its original color or make it more whiter is to soak them in a vinegar solution over night...if it doesnt work in one soak over night wash it and soak again...through this your white become whiter at the same time being protected from the bleach chemical
