the size settings of my screen have been changed, (and it is now larger) but when i try to change them back (so that they are smaller) it sais they are already the smallest they can be. how can i decrease them?

what do you have your resolution set at now?
is the screen clear and readable?
does the full content of a web page show on the screen or is some of it cut off?
when you changed to a higher resolution, did you clk 'apply'?

You've already right clicked your desktop and brought up the display properties.
Try going to control panel and pulling up the display props there. Under modes it should have a checkbox asking to show all possible modes, check that and try again
