Well, speaking as one American, I don't hate everyone. But to answer your question, a lot of Americans are too insular, that is they are too wrapped up in their own lives to really care what is happening in the world They don't read about the other point of view. I don't know, maybe our schools are to blame and there could have been more of an emphasis on other cultures and political systems in our teaching curriculum. In the meantime, I think you should keep an open mind yourself about Americans. Some of us are very very nice.

Most americans are nice, helpful, caring people. Please don't paint us all with the same varnish. Some have been taught to hate people different from them. A lot of this comes from politicians who use fear - as gelato said - as a means of controlling people. It is a very shameful thing to do. We should instead be promoting mutual understanding - this is the way to a more peaceful world. The other way will only lead down a more and more dangerous path for all future generations.

the government wants us to hate. they give monies to foreigners to come here and open businesses we that are citizens don't get opportunities for ahead start. the sad thing is if they hate the people that are trying to do better instead of realizing the government is doing this so we stand divided. people that work together are dangerous to the government there is power in numbers. they will lose revenue and control. most of us Americans are good people our government is breeding hate so they can make hate laws they revenue on.plus it seems everything we do anymore is against the law and if someone don.t like you they can call the cops make up a story and off to jail you go. so most keep to themselves to protect themselves from evil people.everyone thinks they have the right to to judge and decide you go to jail and ruin your life forever. it's messed up we let the governments propaganda dictate hate. hate is a very bad thing. don't follow the crowd. the hardest thing to do to hateful people is kill them with kindness it works most of the time unless they are tooo evil for words.

We don't, if that was true there would not be more people immigrating to America from other countries than any where else in the world. More students from other countries go to our schools than any other, more doctors come here to study. Obviously they wouldn't if we treated them badly. But we are not the French. We will open the doors to our house to you, but if you come looking for trouble you'll find it. And we really don't care what you think of that.

I am an American born and raised in the U.S.A. and do not hate the world or the people in it.I'm an average guy who wants to spend time with my family and raise my kids the best I can.Just like anyone else in the world.I do not run into the streets when there is a tradgedy in the world and hold up pictures of religious leaders like i see people in the middle east do when terrorist blow up people. The point being that there are angry people everywhere not just the American people.here in America I do not fear being killed because of my religious belief we do not tell people what to believe in or how to. As for whats happening in the world how do we hate everyone we sent troops who died in Bosnia to save Muslims from being killed nobody thanked us :( but that is what we do in world war 2 we didnt want to get involed well Japan didnt want to chance it so they attacked us.people from other countries hi jacked airplanes and kiled 3000 of my counrtymen in a matter of minutes for what? who hates who?All you American bashers should look out your windows the people you see are just like the ones I see when I look out mine,,there people just trying to raise there kids and do the best they can

I'm an American. I do see a lot of hatred. I think at the root of that hatred is fear. I don't know whether this fear is in our genes or put into us by the media: every other news story is about how what you're eating for breakfast could kill you or that a sexual predator may live next door and he's coming after your kids. So bottom line, I think it's fear.

as many before me have said, not everyone is like that. no matter a person's race, religion, or belt size, for every one person who says something rascist or hurtful to someone else, I can almost garantee that there were three people who showed respect and love who were not noticed. who ever yells the loudest attracts the most attention, while those with a soft touch and whispered gentle word are not seen.
Please do not judge "all Americans" by the actions of a few.

I don't know a lot of people here that hate everyone. I'm sure those people exist but I don't think it's any more widespread than any other country. One only needs to look to Germany or France to find radical anti immigrant and/or anti Jewish sentiment. I believe you are unfairly classifying the US as exhibiting the same characteristics as most, if not all, other countries. I don't think that hate & prejudgidice are exclusive to any one country.

Don't confuse our government with the people. I don't hear of any hate except for the cowardly roadside bombers and those who kill innocent civilians with truck bombs. Those are the hate mongers of the world. They use people who can't read or those who are easily brainwashed to perform these suicide feats thinking their god will take them to Heaven by killing babies, children, women, and civilians who happen to be at the wrong place. Moron's like Bin Laden who has little or no brain and was I suppose born that way. He likes to beat on women and pray to a phony god. What god would tell people to kill anyone who don't believe? Pure stupidity.
