It is whitish because of the mixture of the surface colour and the sunlight reflecting off it. It's position in the sky determines the angle of reflection, giving the impression of full, half or new.

Moon occurs during 29 days as it travels around the Earth.
The reflected light from the sun as it reaches the Earth is white, the universal color.

This is best answered with a diagram. But as the moon has the sun shining on its half (as do all lit things), sometimes we see the side that's fully lit, sometimes we see the back side darker, etc. Do this: darken your room, shine a flashlight on a small ball placed in the cneter of the room and then walk around the ball. You will now see all the phases (darkened "sides, etc"). If you stand between the flashlight and the ball, you will be in a lunar eclipse position. Demonstrate this to your siblings and friends.

the moon has no light, the light is reflected from the sun and the earth spins round the sun and the moon spins round the earth and sometimes the earth is between the sun and moon and cuts off some of the light.

The moon appears brownish from space, but appears white from the ground for the same reason that the sky is blue! Nitrogen gas in the air!

It's White because it's light reflected from sun. It has it's shapes because the earth is blocking that light from reaching the planet. WHen it complete blocks that light it's an eclipse
