I agree with trollhair, if you don't want him to break anymore of your furniture go exercise with him and then talk about the situation politely and if he gets and attitude or what ever tell him you care for him but it's getting out of hand with the breaking of furniture!

Get a sturdy bench for Michael to sit on when he comes to visit. It's embarassing enough for HIM being overweight. Now, you want to humiliate him even more? If he is really your friend, you'll find a good large-sized place for him to comfortably sit. This is an issue with obese people; please be kind.

You Must Need Better Furniture Maybe you have cardboard boxes for seats.

Just tell him you're concerned for his health and dont mention about the furnitures stuff unless he asked if gave you any inconvenience

Ergh...I know i'm overweight but not enough to wreck furnitures...whew

Make supersized furniture,or ask him politely to sit on the mat or get rid of your furniture entirely..

Tell him about the "I'm Full" diet. just say I'm Full, and they will stop serving. Eat until you are full, then stop. No need to clean up every morsel in sight. Save some for later.

Why don't you exercise with him? When he comes over say let's go for a walk. Talk to him about your concerns.
