Kuwait was regarded as being historically a part of Iraq, much like Austria was annexed by Nazi-Germany.
They'd still be stumped in the war against Iran, but with better resources.
It's a symptom of Fascism, and USA had brought the Fascist Baath party into power themselves.

In all probability they'd have faced a bilateral war, being crushed between Iran and the other Islamic states, especially the ones that would start to worry that they are next. I have nothing to support this claim however, so make your own decision.

There's only one reason Kuwait was brought into existence as a nation- OIL.

What is now Kuwait, was once a province of Iraq & was hived off (stolen) by the West who put their own lackeys in charge. All Saddam was doing was trying to get it back.Evil as he is,I think this time he had a good case.
.For sargosis:US oil in Kuwait?Surely you meant to say Kuwaiti oil, which the US could buy on the open market?

They would have gone on to take over Saudi Arabia and then controlled a huge percentage of the worlds oil and could hold the wet to ransom. They would not have stopped at Kuwait.

If kuwait had been left invaded, Hussein would have control of a lot of U.S. oil. most lkely, the prices of gas would skyrocket and we'd have gone to war anyways.

It would have been better. He might of invaded Saudi Arabia. I'd rather have a corrupt secular madman in control of all that oil than a corrupt monarchy.

There would probably be no more Kuwait. There is only one reason why they invaded kuwait. Oil.

Oil and gas prices would have skyrocketed and the president would have been blamed for that too. More importantly, it would have emboldened Sadaam and other nations and groups in the region to be more aggressive with less fear of U.S. (and allies) responses.

better cause there will be less Arab people and the Israel would not attack Lebanon the price of oil will go down cause they will produce more oil to cover for their stupidity and Saddam would had died for over consumption.
