Yes you are right but it could have been all different, as, he started out at Manchester City after he was seen playing Football on the streets of Manchester aged fourteen years old, ( I have no dates to say how long he was there but, while he was still 14 ) His reputation was so good Sir Alex went to his house to persuade him to sign on to a YTS at Manchester United, with the opportunity to turn professional in three year, which he did in 1990, He is now their longest serving player and their third most capped player. With three years at the youth club & sixteen in the senior team in fact he has played 659 times and scored 133 goals, still got to go some to catch Bobby Charlton up (see below). He is the longest currant player, but, Tony Adams was at Arsenal from 1980 -1984 youth club & 1984 - 2002 senior team, which makes four years youth & eighteen years senior. And did you know that Gary Neville has also been at Manchester United a long time, from 1991 aged 16 playing 341games and scoring 8 goals up to now, so thats Fifteen years for Gary. And keep the best till last Sir Bobby Charlton joined Manchester United in 1954 played 754 games and scored 247 goals up to 1973, which is nineteen years. I will stop now.
