I know very little about REITS but want to learn more. Is there a comprehensive website I can go to? When is a good time to buy them?

REITs (real estate investment trusts) are good investments, have been consistent the last several years and should be for the next several as well. They include commercial properties like retail apartments, offices and industrial properties. Those specializing in retail recently have been doing great, as have apartment REITS. Look around there are REITs that are in mutual funds which would be the safest way to invest.

I believe it was yesterday's Wall Street Journal that had an article (I quickly breezed through it so I can't be specific) that said although home prices are declining, corporate real estate was going up. I guess it just depends what the REIT invests in. Verify my accuracy on the article in the 8/25 WSJ before you take my word on it. Like I said, I just breezed through it. Of course, you still want to follow up with more research.
