Recently there was a story in the news of a man who swapped all sorts of things on ebay. I can't figure it out. I thought you sold/bought things on ebay. How did he do it?

It wasn't an ebay thing. It was a blogger and they have a special section all about how it was done.

You can read all about it and trace the trades one step at a time from 'one red paperclip' to a house in a year.

Swap? Tried to do that a few months ago, but nobody decided to reply...eBay seems to be money only - punters are selling.

i think you might be referring to the paperclip guy ...........he traded a large ( very large ) paperclip ..................for a shark pen , and then continued to trade . there were many trades that followed.........at some point he got a "kiss" snow globe which he traded to corbin bernsen the actor , who traded a speaking role in a movie , which was then traded for a house in Canada ............i dont think this took place on ebay though ........

hope this helps ......
cheers !
