You no longer require a doctor to sign you back on for work.

Just let your employer know, and go back to work.

You need to return to work when the sick not (Medical Certificate) has run it's course.
If you return to work before the sick note has run out then your employer should ask you to leave the premises.
See your gp to sign you back to work if you really must.. but hey... take the time you r entitled to to recover.

No, just return to work. A doctor will sign you off for a term he thinks you will definately be sick for, you return for another sick note because your are still unwell, you return to work as your sick note is finished and your doctor presumes you to be well as you haven't returned.
