I'm sure I will get mad at some of the answers, but I just want to know how you can justify (litteraly, giving facts) Justify hating the US? Why can't people see that we to help people, we send money, man power, and aid all over the world when they need it. The only exception is that we won't help people that support terrorist! Why do people hate us. Just because we are proud doesn't make us bad. And you may say we are at War for oil. But We are paying more money for it now than we ever have (Thats a whole other show). And we get most of our oil from places other than the MIddle East! We are trying to free people. Maybe we shouldn't try to push our belifes onto others, but we know how good we have it over here and just want the same for others. We are also trying to protect our own freedom! Why can't others see that?!?!?!?!

For thoes of you who say we start War might I remind you of the World Trade Center bombings in 93, and the bombing of the USS Cole, and 9/11..... And WE started OBSERED!!! Oh yeah and someone made a comment that we pick on an entire Country and not just the Terrorist! We "pick" on the Country that harbors the terrorist! Don't Forget where Osama is from and the things that Saddam did to his own ppl. Did we not do them a favor by taking him out of power? He is a mean mean man!

That is a complicated question. There are so many different people that hate or love the US for very different reasons. But I think a major reason for the hatred is already answered in your question. The US tries to force its beliefs on others. The US tends to see things in Black or white, no gray. They think that their way is the best way and everyone would be better off doing things their way. But that is not true. Sure Capitalism and Democracy works here, But it Will not work in Iraq or other Islamic countries. These countries are ancient, people have lived there for thousands of years. all the while living with belief that the qu'ran over rules all laws that man creates. The word of the Qu'ran is law (unfortunately many zealots have taken the words out of context and have gone completely against everything Islam stands for) The US is a very Young country, they had a fresh start over 200 years ago. So it was easy to start the democratic process, they just have to realize that democracy is not for everyone. As soon as they realize that, they will save a lot of American lives. Our young men and Women are being killed needlessly in Iraq. As A marine veteran of Operation Iraqi freedom, I saw how hopless the situation is. I believe that the Iraqi people are FAR worse off now then they were before the invasion.
My question for you is this. If we are only trying to protect our freedom, why are we in Iraq? When did they threaten our freedom? wouldnt the troops better protect our freedom by sending more out there to search for Bin Laden, the true threat? we are wasting our resources in the wrong country.

All I could do was laugh when I saw this question. Seeing as how you seem so serious about it, first let me say that there is nothing ANYONE here can say that will set your mind at ease, or even give you a new perspective. You are irrational and an extremist yourself so trying to talk with you in an intelligent manner about WHY people are against the US is pointless.
Oh and as for "helping people" give us all a break from the American propaganda machine for a half hour please. The average american citizen gave 5 cents to the disaster after the Tsunami, Australians gave 5 dollars each, and Finland won with 12 dollars. So show us how you are so generous please, it will be worth the laugh if nothing else.
I don't hate Americans as a whole, just ignorant, brainwashed, stupid, bigoted Americans that cannot imagine themselves as wrong at any point in their history. If america is SO right about its wars, policies, etc then WHY are so many countries against americans???? Because everyone else is wrong???

I love this country, BUT our corrupt government has supported PLENTY of terrorists and dictators in exchange for favorable trade agreements for wealthy corporations. Many favorable to the point of being almost... unfair...
I have no doubt "our" dealings in the Middle-East have been more than a bit "unholy". Could this be partially to blame for a "holy war" against us? I have no doubt "our" wars have more to do with financial gains for the "elite" than they have to do with freeing the world. Freeing the world is not really a Constitutional obligation of our military. They RISK THEIR LIVES to protect and serve US. Is that not enough to ask?
The problems in the Middle-East were ABSOLUTELY worsened in making an "elite" in the USA and Europe very rich. I also believe they would like to keep things going the way they've been. The oil companies make MOST of the profit from a natural resource of the Middle-East. Does any other country make most of the profit from a natural resource of the USA? No... That would be ridiculous and unfair.
Look at what they're doing with not enforcing the immigration laws right here at home. That's clear-cut treason. Not protecting the borders and allowing invasion. But... It makes the "elite" richer at the expense of the working class now forced to "compete" for jobs with people who will work for SLAVE wages. It's just treason to benefit a select few at the expense of the working class WHO ARE STILL THE MAJORITY. THE MAJORITY RULES THIS COUNTRY BY LAW. Why is the middle class hurting so much then... Suicide???... It's CORRUPTION.
Corruption and immorality have become HUGE problems in the US government. They are not telling the whole truth about alot of things and it's pretty obvious. Can you truly deny anything I've written here? The world has doubts about the US government these days, and quite frankly, I do too. Maybe millions and millions of people can't be 100% wrong?
I hope the world understands that only a very few are benefiting from this corruption. There is ALOT of "spin" on the American news and it's fooling alot of people. The majority of Americans will suffer from this greed and corruption too. The working class is being hit pretty hard by lower wages and benefits already, while executive compensation is at all-time highs. Some would argue this, but I've never heard the term "working poor" until rather recently. American families are suffering and population growth even slowed due to Americans working longer hours and both parents often being required to work just to make ends meet. Our prison population is HUGE and growing.

A question like this seems to crop up everyday. I'll keep it short. I'm not against the american people, just the damn foreign policies and the country's attitudes.
The world is seemingly against the USA because of the system with which you seem to dominate the world. Your economy controls most of the other major markets, and your currency is the most widely traded and widely corrupted in the world. Your foreign policy puts pressure on everyone to conform to your control and influence. You are responsible for a lot of conflict throughout the world.
You know how good you have it? Uhm, excuse me? You're telling me that everyone else needs to live like you to be a better person and to have a better standard of living. OK well when you stop focusing on "national security" in other countries, concentrate on your own problems (oh yes the USA isnt all that peachy), maybe then you can tell us how to improve ourselves.
Protecting your own freedom can be answered with simply:
"one persons terrorist is anothers freedom fighter"
You send aid, man-power etc when it is needed, dont you have a responsibility to help poorer countries when they need help? Since you have so much wealth, why not share it? You havent worked hard for it, you've accumulated it through dominance and bullying and pressuring the rest of the world into submittance.
If you want to try and understand why many feel this way, read other national newspapers, and receive your news from various sources other than multi-national corporations like News Corp.
"Look at France. We liberated them in WWII and how grateful are they now?" whoever said that - good god get your head out of your ***. if its not too big to.

first i would like to illustrate that we don't hate the American ppl,we just hate the policy of America and i have known some American friends who disagree with the American policy! anyway, its not about helping ppl giving them money or what so ever, its about how America is always on the side of the guilty leaving the victims and at the same time accusing them to be the guilty,i just have no idea why America is on the side of Israel although the reasonable ppl will notice that Israel always after trouble and that what the Arabs are doing is defending their country!but still the Israeli for America is the victim and if u ever watch an Arabic channel news u will see who is the victim not with word but with real live events!

This is a question that you need to demand an answer from our government and hold them accountable for the self-serving policies that have brought about world scorn against us.These long term policies have brought about the problems that we face today.
We are witnessing the results of our follies.
When the clamor is loud enough its time to ask what are we doing wrong. Not run off an attack other countries when they havent done anything to us(case in point: Iraq). This is one instance that doesnt do much for our image. And the list goes on..................................
Window dressing and smoke screens are not a solution.I could go into a list of bad decisions for you but do your own research its much more convincing.
Dont get mad -- get educated!

well....let me answer that question....why is the world against usa...hmm....
1st of all: ask yourself why is the world against a country that in the past 5years has only started wars.
2nd : ask yourself why is the world against a country that steals oil from another pour states
3rd: ask yourself why the world hates a country that starts wars "against terrorism" and those wars end up when the whole economical branch of the country is destroyed and many civillians dead....or refugees.if u will ask that people that they say are helping this question"who is the terrorist?" what will they answer?
4rd: a country with a guantananamo bay speaks to the world and points other countryes for not respecting human rights....
5th: how can u start a war with a whole country just because it has a few "evil ones"
6th: ask yourself who is worse: hitler stalin or bush?
and if u dont agree with this just put yourself in the shoes of those that u see on tv on the evening news, while sitting on your cousy soffa.

We don't hate you, we just react negatively when USA claims to be the epitome of civilization, yet they keep undermining other nation's governments if their views don't suit theirs.
You do spend a lot of money, but some of it... Like how you spend more than any other country to prevent HIV/AIDS, you do it by pouring money into a ridiculous campain of abstinence!
You veto the more significant motions to better the world, such as the Kyoto Protocol, by claiming it would be too costly to your economy, yet claim to have the strongest economy anywhere?
Jealousy isn't a factor in most developed countries. I couldn't live there, because, even materialistically I wouldn't get even a fraction of what I get here. Student support and free university/higher education kicks USAs a$$. I get paid for studying, can USA citizens say the same? :)

I feel that the reason for other nations not liking (hate is too strong a word) the Americans is the blatant arrogance of your nation. You put your ideas onto countries by force or by finance who have no power to resist. Most infuriating of all is your total belief that you are the best nation in the world and everyone wants to be like you - this is not so, many of us enjoy living in places where culture and education is regarded as important. Most Americans can't be blamed for this as the standard of education in your country is so low that most of the population think that what goes on outside their own town is foreign, outside the state is alien and if it happened outside of the U.S. it might as well have not happened at all (how backward can you get when nearly 50% of the population do not even accept evolution as a fact)

It comes down to the have and have-nots. If the US helps a country keep or initiate a Democracy type government, they are automatically against us because they had to ask for our help and take our money which they would rather not pay back. The people begin thinking we are forcing our ways on them and the hate begins. Look at France. We liberated them in WWII and how grateful are they now? They have a great dislike for us. It's a paradox.
