Judges are usually on a salary at around $130,000 to $150,00 per year. Lawyers range from $75.00 to $500.00 per hour.

I've never had to "pay" a judge that was included in the court fees that were paid. As far as prices for lawyers, I would say the average is about $300.00 an hour for Southern CA. That may vary for other areas. Also there is most likely a retainer fee of $3,000.00- $4,000.00. That money is used just as if you were paying them by the hour, but paid up front in a lump sum. If you go over that you will get billed and each lawyer has their own billing system and requirments.

I know they are awfully expensive, but mine was well worth the price! I have full custody of my kids!

well, you don't pay a judge unless you are trying to bribe them, and lawyers have there own set fee's, it depends on how good they are, and what you are needing them for. i personally wouldn't pay them more than 10% if you are filing,
