Politics & Government

The film was all propaganda, and if we do not remove the blindfold now we ourselves will walk headlong into a dictatorship in this country. For me, the point was how we can be spoonfed anything in order to maintain control of the population, and that is exactly whats happening here and now. One of the best lines in the film was the "The government should be afraid of the people and not the people afraid of the government". This might sound a bit extreme and I cant see the waters being polluted but I can see how we could be fed fear as a means to control what we think. And no matter what or when every day we are told what to think, what to eat, how to be a good parent, a productive member of society and to maintain governments standards of roles and behaviours. So im afraid we are already being controlled. Have a good day y'all!

I disagree to an extent. Think about it, yes we are told by companies, usually not the government, what to eat, how to act and such, but we are not, forced, we still can do what ever we wish. So all these things are jut suggestions and recommendations, not laws.

Approximately 20,000 laws are passed every year in the U.S. in order to keep us free. Think about that for a minute.
Every one of these laws forms a link in a chain around your neck that you can't see. The more rules there are, the more you are a slave.
The nanny state is already here. The government reminds us constantly how badly we need them.

We are, to some extent, living in a nanny state (in America) right now.
Since you enjoyed the movie, you may want to check out the graphic novel. It's a bit more intense, but the overall message is still the same.

I liked the movie, and I am a mile right of Atilla the Hun. It was a good flick and a good fantasy. I think we should fear both political parties. They are all assholes in my present opinion.

I agree that the film is good. The message is that we should never succumb to fear. That is how all totalitarians seek to come to power and stay in power, by playing on our fears. If we can overcome our fear it is we, the ordinary people, that will prevail.

I've seen it too, he's really good at lines, where he has to say almost every word in the English language that starts with a V, hell of a tongue twister.

It was a brainwashing film.
I wonder if most of the kids are so brainwashed that they couldn't tell.
It was an enjoyable film, if you don't mind be fed a line of propaganda.

I adore that movie. And yes, I can very much see that we're heading right into the type of society that the movie depicts. The thought is pretty depressing. :/

lol iwatched it last night too. If i were you i wouldnt believe ANY movie. V for vendetta was good, but it was propaganda, telling me what to think, i dont like being told what to think.
right wingers have made propaganda movies for ages, depicting americans as heroes. its sad to see the left follow.
