was just wondering after seeing the news of msn and yahoo messenger new tie up , that who launched the services first long time back yahoo or msn messenger

MSN Messenger, but at the time, was known as "Windows Messenger." Since the Internet revolution, Microsoft could not package MSN Messenger with systems, so they just created a seperate program.
So technically, Yahoo came first, but Windows Messenger (an early version of MSN) was even earlier.
Windows Live will replace both when Vista arrives.

Msn messenger came first. Msn is owned by the Microsoft company which was around before Yahoo was.

From what i can recall, msn messenger came out just a small while before yahoo messenger did.

I remeber that the first messenger was the MSN, then yahoo.
