Pregnancy is one of the most important medical events in a woman's life. It is the beginning of life so it is important to go early to the Dr so you can have a healthy baby. The Dr will get you started on prenatal vitamins and will ask you basic questions about you health, any problems you might have been experiencing, like morning sickness and your daily habits. This is to ensure you are living a healthy life style for you and your unborn baby. The Dr will need to know if there has been any type of health problems in your family that can affect your pregnancy. Some of these can be diabetes, high blood pressure, hepatitis etc. They ask personal questions about drug use, drinking, smoking, sexual partners and although they might seem a bit extreme it is only to ensure your baby will be born healthy and that your pregnancy will be one without any complications. When you are there, ask any questions you might feel are pertinent. A healthy baby is our ultimate goal!

well hon u r in for a real surprise , when the doctor gets through with you & after u have this baby u will b stripped of all of ur pride , they no ur body from 1 end to the other , lol , ok to b serious here , more than likely u will have blood work drawn , a sonagram , urin checked, a breast exam , a vaginal exam , & a lot of times a complete physical is done , depends on the doctor . as for medical history they want to know everything u no about urself & ur family down to ur grandparents if u know it , most any ob/gyn doctor wants this history to make sure u or the baby r not at risk for any madical conditions , diseases etc. , they also want to know as much as possible about the baby's father & his family's medical history for the same reasons . CONGRATULATIONS ! HOPE YOU HAVE AN EASY PREGNANCY & NO COMPLICATIONS & A BEAUTIFUL NEW BABY IN ABOUT 7-8 MTS. . don't worry about it too much , it's not as bad as a lot of women say it is . relax & enjoy ur new baby when he or she gets here .

they will test your urine and blood~ to make sure everything is in its normal levels~
measure height, weight, blood pressure, pulse.
They need to know any medical history from u, such as other pregnancy, misscarriage, any cancer, or other health related topics... And it would be a good idea to tell them a general family history~
