Unfortunately, Windows 98 does not have a system restore feature such as you find in Windows XP. You can re-install Windows 98 from the original CD-ROM and it will at least give you some possiblity of getting your system back up and running. Good luck!

There is no System Restore for Windows 98. Find out what your friend did and change it back. If this doesn't restore the system, you may have to reinstall Windows. If you have to reformat and reinstall, consider moving up to Windows XP if your system can handle it.

You can restore From Dos mode only! there's no such restoring Function like in Windows Xp...

Type this in Ms-dos Mode! -> Scanreg\restore (i'm confused in \ and / so try both) + you may need to restart Pc in Command Prompt to use this command... i don't think it will work in Ms-dos if you just open run and Type command.com

Sorry there isn't one. It came out with xp. The best thing you can do is save whatever files you can and then re install the software.
