right now it isn't dead. it is in the midst of being tortured and castrated. it isn't dead yet. hopefully someone will save it because it really is good music.

Hip hop isn't dead, but if by dead you mean being transformed solely into soulless Fortune 500 product marketed to white teenagers living in gated suburban subdivision hell it's almost there.
I thought Outkast was going to influence a new generation of artists that mixed classic soul and rap and rock'n roll under the hip hop umbrella. It hasn't happened. Just more pimp/ho/minstrel show garbage.
