I personally do not believe there is ever a situation that could not be solved in discussion. However, there has to be a critical element present; REASON. Without reason there is nothing to talk about. And that is how our government appears to be at this point in time. I fully believe, to my very core, that our current USA government is comprised of unreasonable, greedy, murderous tyrants. Therefore, if things don't change soon, there is really nothing left to talk about with them. Time to invoke our right as the people to abolish it and start over.

When one side has as its core belief system that you are its enemy and must be destroyed - and their own death at your hands is the greatest good that can happen to them. Talk won't work.
Do you think that the terrorists of 9/11 could have been talked into turning the planes around? If so what would you have said to them?

Words hurt. Weapons kill.
Debate of words: one trying to convince the other, yet neither gives in - end result, as human and animal nature is to delete the problem.
Both have weapons of destruction - end result is end of debate!
No one wins.

when i learned about negotiation, the key is each side must be willing to give something up. therefore, by that logic, the problem that is unsolvable through negotiation is where the two sides refuse to give up anything.

If their weapons were taken away, they would beat each other with their fists.
