It's a good question and one that has me thinking whether we haven't been in a world war since the last one was concluded? After all, no sooner than Hitler was disposed, we then had the whole commy thing going on, leading to the Cold War. Then there was the Cuba thing, the Korea thing, the Vietnam thing, the Iraq thing (twice & current), the Iran thing, Afganistan, China, etc. And, I'm not talking about the war on the ground. The Political and economical issues usually come before the blood shed. And, thats just the "Sceptic Tanks".
As for religion................isn't every war about religion and culture?
There has also been the issue of Financial power amoung the leading nations to consider here. Haven't the Brit's and the Yanks ben vying for financial superiority. The rest of Europe giving in and settling for the Euro and now the far East and China are going to kick all our butt's to the bank!
Unfortunately, we're a race of animal that thrives on pleasure and pain. War has always been there right from the first settlers during the stoneage. Religion and Money replaced food and animal skins........probably!

WW 3 is over. It lasted from 1947 to 1991. Some people call it the Cold War, with US and its allies v Soviet Union and it allies.
BTW, we won, largely due to Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.
WW 4 started (at least for the US) on 9/11/2001. The end is nowhere in sight.

Clinton started it when he gave ballistic missile technology to China. Eventually this will justify the new world order, a one world economy, and ensuring the West, Europe and Asia as trading partners. The rich get richer yet again. Trade will be our only option because the nuclear threat is too horrific.
Samuel China is anything but silent. They are the sleeping giant. When they awake your words will be shoved down your throat and out your a**.

That's a funny jump...from economics to religion?
I have my doubts about a 3rd world war. Unlike the first two, today it is not possible to keep people running on propaganda. There is far too much information available to keep people snowed about what is going on in a conflict. Iraq is the perfect example of this.
Rather, I suspect the future of warfare will be alternate terrorist attacks and high-altitude bombing. There isn't a lot of taste for ground warfare anymore.

There can be no third world war... because no body has guts to stand up against USA. The world is there for us to go and grab. Europeans wait for our command and do our bidding. China keeps silent. Russia is a beggar at out door. Muslim world does not exist any more! Or are you pining your hopes on Africans or Latinos!!!! Get a life!
