no you cant trust me im a mechanic , just dump the battery its no good , batterys arent expensive these days , most cost around 30 quid and last about 3 years if lucky!

Well it hardly sounds likely, now DOES it.
if it's not holding a charge, dump it. You shouldn't mess with battery acid, it's dangerous.

if the cells are dead even one weak one throw it out...the price of batteries nowadays are exceptionally cheap...! not worth the hassle trying to repair one!
