Does your door have a window in it? If so, the owls may be seeing a reflctionof the moon and stars and think it is open sky. If so, hang a dark blanket on the door in front of the window. Remember owls have extraordinary hearing and vision. Do you windchimes near the door which are making a sound thry mistake for prey.Have you had this problem before? If not, try to see what is different from previous seasons. If you can't find the reason contact your local wildlife agency for help. I knew someone here who had the problem of owls flyin ginto the windows. They bought some plastic mesh and stretched it acrossthe windows. I have weighted strips of wide ribbon hung in front of my large picture window to keep the birds from flying into them. Have sufficient wind to keep the strips moving. Good luck.

I am really sorry but I may just be missing something here..... what do you mean by "beaten by owls" why the quotation marks? do you mean owls are coming round bashing at your door, with their wings and beaks?? or does "beaten by owls" mean something else? if it's owls of the feathered variety knockin hell out of your door then I would agree with the previous answer - electrify the door and fry the buggers I mean to say front doors aren't cheap

But no, seriously, there must be a reason they do that. Try to find out why they do it. And from there it should be easy. You just eliminate the trigger, and the owls' reaction should cease accordingly. Basic psychology.

Erect a wire-mesh barrier(chicken wire on a 1x1 frame) and fix it a foot away from your door each night. If they insist on flying at it, you'll get shredded tweet. (Sorry - just thought of that. Wish I hadn't.........)
