that I took out of my 351W that I bought. I put a different kind in it. I would like to put it in my 302. Just being curious of what kind cam it was. I looked on the back of it and all it says is 260 H S. So what is H S? Well I bet no one will know so then how can i measure it to see what it has for lift?

Not only do you need to know the lift, but durration, and deg. as well.

Unless you like bent intake valves.

Depending on the year of your 302 if it came from a 351 windsor youll have to use the 351 windsor firing order, newer 302's use the 351 firing order (I THINK from 82 and up). Also if you plan on reusing the lifters make sure you keep them in order (like cylinder 1 intake valve lifter needs to go in the same spot on the other motor) unless the cam has very very few miles on it or just buy new lifters.

You can also check lift by leaving it in the motor and putting in a lifter. You can rotate it around and use a dial indicator to measure lift. Its best to use a solid lifter but a hydraulic one will work.

You can measure the lift by putting the cam (on the journals)
in two "vee" blocks and use a dial indicator .
Or put it between centers and check it that way.

Call Crane cams Tech Line - 386-258-6174 and ask about
the 260 HS cam ,
