I have a Motorola V3 Razr and the picture quality isn't really great. But it still takes decent pictures. Anyway, how can I take a good self-portrait?

Proper lighting is what matters most.
Even an average cam can give brilliant result if lighting is proper.
-You should take pictures where the light is good.
-Dont take pictures against light (ie with sun in front of camera)
-Try to keep your camera angle at 90* (ie dont tilt it)
-I am sure you can get brilliant results if you keep these points in mind.

You can make a good picture with any camera, even a cell-phone. Concentrate on strong elements, interesting composition, and unique light. Forget about contrast, definition and sharpness. Go with the art.

Put the camera low or high, try a unique angle, find some unusual light, visualize a better picture. And it will happen.

Uh.....you don't. A phone with a camera is a novelty item. Get a real camera to take pictures and let the phone do what it's meant to do...make and receive calls.
