I am almost 5 weeks pregnant. I don't have my first real Dr. Apt for another 2 weeks. Can you give me advice on these things:

1. Are there any lotions, oils, soaps, etc that I shouldn't use.

2. How do I know when a food is unpasturized?

3. Can I eat feta cheese?

4. Can I use sunblock?

5. I heard I should stay away from sugar- does that mean cut ice-cream and candies completely out of my diet?

6. I know pregnant ladies shouldn't lifft heavy things- how heavy?

Please help!!!!!!

Darling, just try to relax, and enjoy the few or maybe once in your lifetime that you will be able to experience a baby within your body. Screw the doctors and everyone else. Just think of your baby, inside of you, and his/her life depends on you now, and will forever in it's life. Be proud, and now, take charge. Be STRONG for your baby. I love you, and I don't even know you. Ron

No Feta cheese!...Basically no soft cheeses. You can find a list of what not to eat on almost every pregnancy website. There are also certain fish high in mercury that you will need to avoid. And no mayonnaise from salads at restaurants etc. There may be salmonella.

Oh and regarding sugar a lot of women develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy, and also more sugar can increase yeast infections so just limit yourself...But you don't have to cut out sugar.

Congratulations!!
I don't know if you can get this in the States but I'm using Bio Oil to prevent stretch marks. Not only is it really good for your whole body but it smells gorgeous and for ultimate pampering get your partner to massage it in.
I was a bit worried about unpasteurised but find if I try to eat fresh food as much as possible you're on the right track.
As for the sugar I try to have real sugar and steer clear of processed foods that have hidden sugars for preserving. Same goes for salt.
The biggest thing I've found in my diet is just eating fresh food. I'm still having a lot of the same things I would have before except I'm making everything from scratch rather than relying on convenience products. That way I know exactly how much salt, sugar and things are in.

my first time i wasn't given many don't do things. and when my family said "don't carry that i just said "i'm ok" lefting becomes a problem later. eat was you, stuck to as health as you can. second time i don't know til i was 4 months at which time we also found out we were having twins. fun!! they said no caffine or heavy lefting ( more than 30 LBS) at 6 & ahalf months. when they tried to come early. i still ate chocolate and moved some furniture.( 35 LBS) and i would do laundry. third time again no restrictions. they did keep a close eye on me. listen to the Doc. & to yourself. if you do it then do it. don't go crazy with the rebel. but don't completely wimp out either. this is the easy part compared to what's coming. boy or girl. have fun!! oh and, it's embrassing but the material of your undies has alot to do with your itchy belly later. no matter what soap or lotion you use. GOOD LUCK and like some have said already RELAX. it'll be the last time you full enjoy it.

You can use any kind of soap or lotion, no feta cheese, no processed foods like lunch meats or hotdogs, no raw fish(sushi). You can use sunblock, you can have sugar & caffiene in moderate amounts, you can lift heavy stuff up to 40 lbs. Go to www .babycenter.com, they have answers to everything. I became addicted to that site & it was incredibly helpful. Congrats & I hope you have a safe & easy pregnancy.
