The number 13 is the higher octave of the number 12. 12 being symbolic of 12 vortexes at work on our world. 13, rising above
the baser physical aspects of spiritual things. With the 12 disciples and Jesus, there were 13.
Spontaneous fires used to break out in hotels on the 13 floor. This is due to spiritual forces at work. And gave rise to the superstituion that 13 is unlucky.
I have heard that due to this superstition. Friday the 13th is actually a lucky day. Because people tend to be more cautious.

No, and the "luck" and "bad luck" of numbers depends of your cultural background. For instance13, is an unlucky number for christians, but in fact is a lucky number for Chinese, becasue the source of this "bad luck"relies in a episode of European history when France's King Filipe IV, ordered the seizure of the assets of the templars and hte assassination of all the members of that religious order, under the accusation of heresy, sodomy and stuff like that. This happened on 13th October 1307, a Friday. The truth is that the King owed a lot of money to the Templars, so the best way to write off the debt was to kill his debtors.

No, but I was brainwashed by the U.S. Army at Ft. Richardson Alaska back in 1st and 2nd grades to believe that numbers have personalities and colors. Above the blackboard in the front of the room, the alphabet and the numbers were pinned in a row. I was fascinated with the cartoonish numbers (this was before my family had television). They each had a different color and a different face. I imagined such things, as the teacher droned on, as the number five, a guy, was in love with number six. Although a bit plump, number six just kinda used poor old red number five and she really had the hots for number nine, who, being secretly in love with number three, was away most of the time defending the Kingdom of Numbers . . . like my soldier father . . .in order to win number three's heart away from that absolute pig, number zero. . And, number four ...I was so in love with him with that beatnik thick green hair he had that to this day I won't have a phone number without lots of fours in it. :)

Nope. There's no reason to regard numbers to be unlucky. If there's something happens 'cause' by those numbers, I prefer to think that it's just a coincident.
