Why would you want to? Isn't your currency stronger?

Not unless it makes more economic sense to have it. the Pound is stronger than the Euro right now. Why should we relinquish it just to please a bunch of whining Eurocrats who want us to "join the Europe gang"??? Get real!!
All this British are too"soverign and Islolationist" stuff is Bull by the way. Why do we want to "join with Europe" - we just don't LIKE the German and French very much, LOL!!!

Yes is the long run , because to maintain in congruence with single market principle....lets say in 20 yrs almost all of europe is at the same level of productivity and per capita/gdp ratio then I think that england would change to euro , there are many advantageous of a single currency but the countries govt loses control on its monetary policy because of single currency ...look at the problems that italy is facing right now ...or ireland and spain would face in future..as they are fast losing competitiveness because wages are rising fast

Yes and then we can transfer all our gold reserves to Germany and hand over what little say we have in our own law making to Brussels and be ruled by a German/Franco led EU

With this bunch of "Anti British" prats running the country anything is possible , it maybe they will consider "Rupees" to be a good idea thats before they introduce "Monopoly" money as did "Hitler"

but of course! do you guys still dream of the great British Empire? open your eyes - you willl end up (sooner than later) with either US dollars or euros. and maybe it will be nice finally to turn your face to Europe instead of following obedientely the US tail? (the only real objection I remember is from "Love actually". great movie, by the way!)
