i see lots of people having a go at some people for been on this! why do people always assume that if people are on income support then they are lazy! some people have no choice! when i split up with my ex i had no choice but to go on income support for a couple of months as i gave up work when we had are baby unaware that we would be splitting up! people really looked down on me and called me names but why? b'cos i have always worked from the age of 15 up untill i had my daughter! i have a job now but some people still call me names because i had 2 claim benifits for a short time! i want people to know that not all people are ''chavs'' cos of benifits i had no choice!

welfare is there for a reason, i was a single mother of two, and i didn't give a crap what other people thought i wanted a good life for my kids, they paid for my day care while i went to school, and gave me medical and food stamps,i worked 2 jobs and that still wasn't enough money to pay my bills without them, what others think of you is none of your business its what you think about you that counts- love you

The people that had ago at you, will most likely at some point in there lives have to claim benefits, then the shoe will be on the other foot. The benefit system is there to aid people when they need it, I hate it when people judge others for being in need. Just turn the other cheek and keep up the good work. Karma will get them!!

It's totally wrong that you were called names. I think the majority of people have a problem with all the immigrants, undeserving and the benefit cheats out there.Don't worry about people that went on like that, at the end of the day you were fully entitled to those benefits and were only on them for a short time anyway. It's so sad and unfair that the deserving get all this hassle and stick.

Just put it down to ignorance!! The people that are so quick to jump in with nasty comments about people being on benefits are the ones that have probably been on them thernselves some time in there lives!!

i think it is a stigma that people think they are paying taxes for people to just sit down drink and smoke weed but i know for sure people like you are in a situation where you cant do nothing but claim benefit. i think people are fickle and tend to type cast all benefit claimers as chavs or refugees. don't blame the people blame the chavs and refugees who claim and have no intention of working but to make there moneys in different ways like drug dealing and the like. the government should look at these people and make them work or simple as STOP THERE BENEFIT but the government is soft idiots who think to stand on there toes would lose them votes. but the way it is now they will lose votes as the people don't like to be ripped off. may i wish you good luck with your job and all the best for the future well done and you don't have to be ashamed to have been on or claiming benefits because people understand that they are real cases like yours and people who cant work IE disabled or very sick people.

Chill, sister, I didn't rag on you. I've had a total of 4 weeks benefits from the system in over twenty years of working. No-one has a problem with that, it's the long-term slackers who can't bother to work but can work the system that people are angry about.
