i put a set of broad Michelin's on mine they were fantastic but pricey!!!

Best thing is to ring your BMW dealer or tyre supplier. If you are in the UK see if there is a Gupa-P near you. They are excellent, good value and will tell you everything you need to know. Try yell.com for the plymouth branch and just speak to them and ask.

My experience is that Michelin's tend to be quiet. Although they are expensive they also tend to last well so they're good if you plan to keep the car.
For grip go for Pirelli or Bridgestone.
For wet weather performance go for Continental.
Never had that much luck with Goodyear or Dunlop, just average.

most tyres are about the same but don,t run either low profile or run flat tyres if you want a beeter ride and less road noise
