Seems like the stories are becoming more and more outrageous. Although I'd say Maury Povich is getting pretty close to a Springer-esque type format with all the paternity tests.

You know what? I'm going to disagree with your notions of Maury being Springer.
Dr. Phil doesn't seem to be any more ridiculous now than it was a year ago... it's mostly interventions, interviews, and..... well, Oprah without the lesbianesque feel to it.
In any case, I don't know if either Dr. Phil or Maury are staged..... but we all know that Jerry Springer is a STAGED SHOW.
I mean, there's a possibility that the others are, too...... but as outrageous as it all sounds... I still think that Dr. Phil and Maury are still GENUINE shows. That the people they bring on, genuinely have the problems that they do.
I mean, it sounds ridiculous, but I'm about 60% sure that both those shows are still showcasing real people with real problems... not like Springer.

I Hope never. Jerry Springer has already admitted that his guests are all actors and that the people don't really have those problems. Dr. Phil's guests do have real problems. Maury Povich has gone the way of the DNA shows. I guess there are no more original topics out there.

I agree, Maury's more Springer-like than Dr. Phil. I don't watch Dr. Phil, though, because I just can't stand his holier-than-thou attitude. Perfect life, perfect family, he always has all the answers. You'd never suspect he'd been barred from practicing in the state of Texas for having an inappropriate relationship with a patient, now, would you?

Maury is already there! All he has on now are women who are their 9th test to find out the father of her kid. That's really pathetic! I like Dr. Phil, though.

"Dr" Phil is a joke, a phony who kissed Oprah's as$ until he got his own show. I would sooner trust the advice Springer gives his guests.

id give it a couple more years. as for the Maury Povich show...it SHOULD be called "Who's your Daddy? w/Maury Povich."
personally....i think Springer should be shot...trailer trash BS crudding up daytime TV, and wtf is with his little "holier than thou" monologue after the show?!! Give me a break!
