What is the range of human nature? Some are altruistic, some are very greedy. That will not change, and that is good, for each have something to contribute. Greed brings wealth and opportunity. Altruism salves the wounds.

It is culture/society and upbringing that makes the difference. The altruistic should be more ambitious for themselves, the greedy should be more charitable. That can be taught and expected.

When I watch TV or a movie, I see that greed, unfaithfulness, and violence are taught to all. Art should show how life should and might be, to bring out the best. We show the worst, and I'm afraid we will get the worst.

Up to a point. Historically, governments last until the oppressed people feel they are living in hell and that even death is better than what they have to endure.

At that point they explode and that ends that particular government.

The difference between when country A and country B explodes seems to be affected by some other influence in their lives, things like religion, climate, diet, and others.
