that the countries of the world ask for their help? What are these countries? Don’t remain fixed to the past glory of rescuers of the World War II, this belongs to the History, but give some examples during these last 10 years. What is this help that the United States still bring to the world, while the whole world considers US not as helpers but as a threat for the peace?

This is not an attack from my part, the world has eyes fixed to your errors but forgets certainly the good things that you bring, that is why I ask you to remind them to us.

Philippines, Haiti, ok. That is not "all countries in the world", is it ? Not very convincing in your answers.

Let's see:
When Kuwait was invaded by Iraq in 1991.
When the tsunami hit in 2004.
After every major earthquake (too many to innumerate) throughout the world. We sent aid immediately.
In Bosnia.
In Africa, with the civil unrest there. Somalia, South Africa, Congo/Zaire, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Mozambique, just in the last ten to fifteen years.
We have had military operations in ALL of those countries recently.
Haiti, during Clinton's presidency.
South America: Chile, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia...have all begged for our help.
Yemen, the way women have been treated there.
Armenia, and the mass genocide there. They wanted to know why we didn't help. That was perhaps because during those times, we were involved in various other "projects" throughout the world.
Japan is begging us to do something about North Korea.
Many countries in the Middle East are worried about Iran, and are asking for our help there.

The constant unrest on the border between Pakistan and India.
There have been SO many humanitarian crises around the world over the last fifty years, and every time, the US is asked to help.
Did you know that the Iraqis cried when we left after the Gulf War? They thought we were going to overthrow Saddam then.

That's all I can think of right now, but as I said, this is just in the last ten to fifteen years. These are all things that I specifically remember.

The US military currently has operations in 92 countries. This is NOT including Special Forces of the various branches, or the CIA. That's classified information. No one knows, except the President and perhaps his cabinet.

This is a great question, Agathe! I always wondered this also. Unfortunately the U.S. is considered a threat because they deem themselves the most powerful nation in the world. They also have a terrible knack for starting Wars and stirring things up in countries (hint: George Bush) which seem very misguided and where they do not know the ramifications of their actions.
In other words, if one house on your block always thought of themselves the richest, the most powerful, the greatest, wouldn't all other houses feel threatened and resentful? It isn't an easy thing to fix, unless they want to step down from power, which I doubt very much.
By the way, I'm Canadian

Except in the case of this Iraq War, which was unprecedented in our all-out aggressiveness with no official call for help, I believe many have called on our help in the past 10 years. Usually we go when the UN is called on for help, as reps of the UN. But Iraq was different, and Bush was way too hasty. He has made the world a worse place, I believe.

Places like Haiti, for example, needed ours and others' help.

It doesn't matter. They probably didn't deserve the help they got anyway.

It would be a great idea if, say for the next 10 years, the US government refused to become involved in any support activities to foreign governments. No foreign aid to anyone, no military forces intervening except for direct threats, etc.

Let's apply all that money to reducing our deficit instead.

I'm not convinced. I think we go barging in where we are not wanted or needed and don't pay enough attention to the problems that we have right here.
