YES! DEFINITELY! Do the free full scan regularly. It's pretty good, mostly because it cleans up the registry. That's tricky to do yourself if you don't know what you're doing. With this you're safe!. Try it. Oh, yes, get Windows Defender Beta 2 as well.

yes its a good thing to have because microsoft can do one on one scans of your computer to find and repair problems
