Men need more food to hold them up than women, especially if they're active. Even if men and women do the same things, men will use more energy to do them because our bodies are bigger. I don't think our stomachs are that different, but our bodies need more than yours (except perhaps when you're pregnant, and even then we probably need more than you). It's a mixed blessing, believe me. The only thing you have to watch out for is if he changes his activity level or starts getting older. He might then need to cut back a bit to avoid gaining excess weight. But otherwise, his habit is normal.
Try to make sure he's eating heathy food though, because eating lots of bad food is very unhealthy. Good night!

Necessary nutrients for men

Many men already know they need more protein than women - about one serving a day more. And those concerned about preventing prostate cancer may know they need to eat a lot of tomatoes and tomato foods such as sauce because they contain lycopene, an antioxidant that helps prevent prostate cancer, says Patti T. Milligan, corporate dietitian for Sprouts Farmers Market in Scottsdale. But here are five nutrients that men might not know they need to eat more of:
1. Better fats
"Men need to get in healthy fatty acids, and that would be the omega-3s," says Milligan. "Heart disease is the Number 1 killer of men, and when you look at regulating cholesterol, blood pressure and mood, it comes to the omega-3 fats."

What to eat: Cold-water fish such as salmon, mackerel, albacore tuna; dark, leafy greens; flax seeds and flax-seed oil; almonds and walnuts.
2. Zinc
"Zinc is a mineral that's so key to good prostate health. They've shown (in studies) that men with low circulation zinc levels are at the highest risk for prostate cancer."
What to eat: Pumpkin seeds, quality meats, mushrooms.
3. Heart-healthy vitamin trio
"Men need folic acid, B6 and B12, and they go together," Milligan says. "When you're looking at heart disease and cancer, they've found that when inflammation goes unchecked, those diseases are more likely to be more rampant. These vitamins are good at keeping inflammation in check."
What to eat: Eggs, quality meats, brewer's yeast, fish, bell peppers, figs, beans, wheat germ, barley and spinach.
4. Magnesium
"Magnesium is so underrated. It's involved in over 300 reactions in the body," Milligan says. "Men in particular need more because of their muscle structure. Magnesium is involved in muscle contractions and bone building and also heart rhythm, clotting and nervous system functioning."
What to eat: Figs, beans, apples, wheat germ, all kinds of nuts, any whole grains such as brown rice, spelt bread or flax-seed bread.
5. Antioxidant vitamins
There are three parts to this group: vitamins E, C and the family of carotenoids. "As we age, we are as healthy as our antioxidant system is," Milligan says. These nutrients affect the way we process toxins in our environment and how our cells are able to regenerate.
What to eat: Apricots, berries, peppers - any vegetables or fruits that are bright orange, yellow or red.
