the tounge goes dry and one doesn't feel the taste.some times the food tastes bitter when one has fever,why does this happen?

It has to do with the olfactory sense. It's just like when you smell something in the air, you can almost taste it. Have you ever noticed when cats sniff the air, they have their mouths slightly open? That's because they capture scent particles on their tongue and put it up to the roof of their mouth (where the Jacobson's organ is located) so they can "taste" what's in the air. excessive mucus is produced and its making then absorbtion of chemicals from the air more dilute....so the taste of something is most likely depending on the smell which means if the smell is little,the lesser the taste will be
and for fever >< lol..i dunno

taste has alot to do with smell. the smell influences the taste and when ur nose is stuffy u cant smell. thats y most things smell similar to there tastes. plz giv me best answer=)
