The typical measurements used for adult males is to measure around the waist just above the hip bones and along the inseam from just below the crotch to floor.

EX: 29x32 means that your hips are 29 inches and your inseam is 32.

i always find a pair of jeans that fits me best than take a tape measure and lay my jeans flatt. for ex. if your a sz 13 and u lay the jeans flatt and measure and they come out to 17inches..you go 17+17=YOUR WAIST MEASURMENT..

*bend sideways then locate the fold that's your waistline
*tape measure your waistline
*3 inches down from your waist is your hip 1, tape measure it too
*from waist down to your sole is the length of your jeans(if you are a high waist person)
*from hip1 down to your sole is a length of your jean(if you like hipsters)
*update your measurements everytime you buy jeans
