It all depends on your style. Too short would be if you stretch upwards it exposes your belly. Too long... hard to say... if you wanna portray a street thug, past the knees is fine. for a normal guy, right at or a few inches below the crotch should do fine.

if it touches your knees, it is far too long. If you cannot raise your arms straight into the air without showing your belly then it is far too short. I hope that helped.

if i can see your boxer and the top of your jeans then they too short
if the shirt looks like pajama shirt on you then it may be too long........
