Many people.

JoelMBA is technically correct that the Patriot Act does not itself provide any criminal penalties that would give rise to an arrest.

However, many people have been held in contempt of court and jailed for refusing to provide the documents -- library records, health information, personal and financial statements, school records, etc. -- that the Patriot Act allows law enforcement to collect.

Or they have been held in contempt of court and jailed for refusing to comply with gag orders that deny them the opportunity to challenge these provisions, or even to petition the govt to repeal them. Denial of the basic right to petition the govt for redress of grievances (1st Amendment).

So, yes, there have been quite a few.

The USA PATRIOT Act enables gives powers to the people to prevent fraud, terrorism and money laundering. It really does not provide a law upon which you can be arrested.

I watch the NBC program of Dateline that had interviews of people having their bank accounts siezed, and being detained by the FBI here in America over the Patriot Act 2 years ago. I haven't heard or seen anything on line about it since. The people who were arrested were just normal everyday white American citizens too. I wanted to say one of them was harassed because of the choices of books he checked out of a public Library. I think that is crazy myself.
