It is hard to imagine that any child in Modern America has had no schooling. The percentage would have to be extremely small. Our problem lie in the fact that after 6th grade, the state takes little interest in ensuring a further education for anyone. The world's most literate nations, like Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, focus on teaching children **how to learn**, rather than smashing them with facts. French 1st graders spend about half of the school day outside following the leader, stopping to learn whenever something happens. Little French children are very happy, even when the Nazi's are running things.
