I'm sorry to see you've experienced mistaken identity. Unfortunately there are over, what, 4 million Mexicans pouring over the borders with more on the way. People tend to blend together with large numbers. Good for you, and way to go with your kids! Are you a naturalized citizen now? If not, that would be a tremendous gift to your sons, to be Americans with Mom. If you are a citizen, keep on being proud and ignore stupid people.

No, not all think we are. Latin means either Hispanic or Argentina etc. It's all the same cutler but from different countries. Just like white/Caucasian. Italian can say he is white/Caucasian. I'm proud to call myself a Latina and I was born here in the United States. This is America and we are all white/Caucasian if you were born here. And we are all suppose to speak and understand English not just Spanish!

I made that mistake when I was young. Now I don't assume anymore. If you politely correct someone, there will be one less person that assumes you are mexican. I also know white people with green cards. The lesson is never make a quick judgement based on looks.

Well... just by teaching your kids to love the country and the flag doesnt automatically make you one of them.( You'll always be an immigrant). It seems your problem is that you think all mexicans are criminals, same way americans think all latins are mexicans.... funny heh? Ah que boluda!, mejor tomalo con calma y bebete un mate! Acordate de donde sos y con mucho orgullo sientete latina!

I chalk it up to sheer ignorance. Some people just can't think outside of their little worlds.

listen. Americans are racist. we are taught at a young age that people are different. not that they are equal. we are flawed. the sad thing is that we don't know it.....at least most of us don't.
