i have a acer lattop. If i need to format the C drive and install new operating system.Wondering what will happen to my sound card driver and video cards because i do not have driver CDs?

Fact and Sam are correct... If you install XP, it will have drivers automatically for you... you can even go to windowsupdate.com on IE (the one time you have to use IE unless there a hack for firefox I dont know about)...
or find out who makes the drivers and go to their website or search yahoo for them...
so basically, just get XP

I have an acer too u might want to use e-recovery on the empower go there and click on restore then restore sysytem to factoring setting. It will ahve all ur drivers and other stuff. U can also made a dvd from there.
