besides the fact that u named your daughter christopher- u should treat a preemie like a regular newborn. keep outside activities to a minimum- if the baby shouldn't b born yet y would u parade it around in a society full of germs? keep visitors 2 a minimum also- every1 has germs!! Make sure those who do hold the baby wash their hands, have on little 2 no perfume, ARE NOT SICK OR "GETTING A COLD" for other tips talk 2 your baby's doctor or the hospital. My daughter (Lilli) was 6 wks premature & she's 8 now & as healthy as can b. There is plenty of info out there for u if u look 4 it-

Depending on how early "christopher" was born, he wont come out of the hospital until he's at least 5 pounds. Period. If he has other health problems, they will keep him to his due date, or until the problems clear themselves up. If he's already home, then all you gotta do is take care of him. As for care, you take care of him like any other baby. However, you want him to get shots for RSV, and you want to make sure that people wash up before they handle him. Preemies are very very delicate.

Christopher??
Keep a very close eye on her. Premature babies require extra care. They are more likely to get sick because their immune systems aren't very strong. Keep your hands washed (and everyone elses)..don't smoke anywhere around her. Make sure she gets as much formula as she wants. If shes hungry..feed her. Don't worry about whether its "time yet". She will probably only drink very little at a time so give her frequent feedings.
There are many good books on the subject of premature babies so go to your local library or bookstore (leave the baby with a trusted relative) and tell them you are looking for a book about the care of premature infants. I personally would lay her on her side vs her back because if she chokes on her formula, it will run out of her mouth if shes on her side. If shes on her back and is spitting up she either swallows it...or who knows. I just always felt more comfortable with my kids on their sides....

A girl names Christopher thats a new one for me.....hmm i would give her lots of love, run to her every need babys that age are not spolied they cry when they need something. Try real hard to breast feed her. She needs lots of rest, and dont take her out too much. Other than that follow your doctors orders. You can also go to www.babycenter.com and read they have everything you need to know about babies.

am sorry, about some nasty and hurtful comments of certain ppl in here,,well,u mean to say she were born premature right?uhhh quiet tough.,cos although i have raised up 4 kids on my own,i did not had any experience with a premature baby, but what i can say is....ask a doc,on howmuch she needs to be fed each time,as ,premature kids, are special,,becareful..don't overfeed her,cos usually, prematured child organs are not yet fully developed yet,,so,,be extra careful when handle her,,if possible take care of urself first,,,by eating and rest well,so that u wil be able to breast feed her,,,,,as breast milk suppose to be the best milk for babies, specially so the premature ones and,,,,,be careful how u handle her while u bath her,,alternately,if theres a relative, near by,,,get help from them....

Breastfeed your baby. When u breastfeed u give your baby all the nutrients he/she need to survive. Breastfeeding protects them from catching colds, cancer, and a lot of the things that adults get like high blood pressure, diabetes. I have a little boy 6 days old and he came 1 month and 2 days early and he weighed 5lbs. 15oz. and now he his 6lbs. and very, very, healthy.

Ask you mom for help it's going to be okay or you can call nurses for newborns I don't have the number on me but they are great they will send a nurse to your house to make sure you are doing fine. It will be fine just take a deep breath and look them up on the web.

i read your last questions and you are so full of s***. if you really do have a 1 week old do everyone a favor and like i said before, go to your local police station or hospital and drop the baby off, give her a chance.

I think you should give the baby to a couple who can't have kids and want to adopt. Open adoption if you're serious and want to be in the baby's life.
