How do you use a gameshark for PS1?

Question

Can you only use it with certain games. I have tried all I know to do on the games I have and don't know what to do. Thanks in advance.

ok so i have looked at the site and see all these codes for it, but where and how do i put the codes in?

not sure what kind of gameshark that you have...
but, on the one I had, there was a option that said "enter cheat codes" or somewhere along those lines.
i remember that i had to attach the actual gameshark to the back of my ps1.
if you have a cd version, there is no way to add more codes. if this is the case, buy one online. they are dirt cheap by now.
also, try gaming sites to search for codes that do not need a gameshark.
my personal favorite is Gamefaqs.com. they have a lot of the old school games and systems

yeah , it just works for some of the games.
U need to buy a cd called gameshark for ps1 , enter the cheats in the disk and then play...
but if u want to know for which game u gotta buy , just look at the back of the cover of that disc...
but ive never used those cheats .they suck!!
