Ok well..

Rectangle perimeter is: 12 + 12 + 6 + 6 = 36cm.

So wire was 80cm..

So remainder left to form square is:
80 - 36 = 44cm

Square has 4 equal length sides.. so

44 divided by 4 = 11cm length sides on the square.

What I get is this:What you are saying is, you have a length of wire that is initially 80cm in length and it is divided into two pieces,
Let us call one piece "x".Then the other piece will be (80 centimeters minus x),i.e., 80 - x. If the rectangle has a length of 12 cm and a width of 6 cm, its total perimeter is going to be (2times 12) plus (2times6) because a rectangle has four sides, two long sides and two wide sides, or a total perimeter of 36 centimeters. The other piece is thus 80 centimeters take away 36 , which is 44. Thus you have 44 centimeters left to form the perimeter of the square, each side of which is 11 centimeters long. Since you seem to be asking what is the perimeter of this square, it is 44 centimeters.
I hope I am right.

C'mon, you can do this. The rectangle is 12cm on two sides and 6cm on two sides (draw it out). So, the length of the wire used to form the rectangle is 12+12+6+6=36. If you started with 80 and used 36, you're left with 44cm of wire. You know that a square is the same size on all sides. So, divide 44 by 4 sides and you'll get a square of 11cm on all sides (11+11+11+11=44). The area of the square is length x width. So, 11 x 11 = 121sq cm.

First, figure how much wire the rectangle used. It is 12 by 6. A rectangle has 4 sides, so you will need to add 12 cm for the first side, 6 cm for the second side, 12 cm for the third side and 6 cm. from the fourth side. Then subtract your total from the original total length of 80 cm. A square has 4 equal sides. So from your remaining peice of wire, you need it divide it equally between the four sides. For the final calculation, you will take the number you determined from above, and divide by 4 (the number of sides) then this will give you the length of one side of the square.

This has nothing to do with area, it's just a preimeter question :)

The length of the rectangle(perimeter) is obtained by adding two times its length and two times its breadth. ie. (2x12)+(2x6)=24+12=36.
The length of the remaining peice of wire that is bent into a square is obtained by subtracting the length of the rectangle from the total length of the wire. i.e. 80 - 36 = 44 cm= length of the square.(perimeter)
Now, this length is bent in 4 equal lengths to form the square.
Hence the length of one side of the square will be the total length of the square divided by 4. i.e. 44cm / 4 =11cm

Seems pretty simple to me.
Find the perimeter of the rectangle.
Subtract that length from the initial wire.
Divide the remainder by 4 (4 equal sides form a square).

a million. that's not a sq. then? the realm must be 50 sq. units. 2. that's not a sq.... the fringe must be 6 + 6 + 5 + 5 = 22 3. that's a sq. not a rectangle. the fringe must be 4(7) = 28. 4. something more suitable by using 4 is a similar as 16, that something is 4 so the realm is 16 sq. units. 5. 16 sq. units.

find the perimeter of the rectangle,
2*(l+b)=36.
thus remaining length=80-36=44
perimeter of square=44
4*a=44(a-side of square)
a=11.(answer)
(write in form of words it really helps)
